I decided to create a Christmas edition because we were in December when I started this magazine, I am currently experimenting with fonts and colour (Brand Identity) after putting my background image on the magazine using Nikon D3100 and InDesign. I am doing this to make sure I can see the writing from where you would stand if you were looking at it on a shelf whilst keeping with my chosen colour scheme.
At this point I inserted a drop cap to keep with the medieval style as this is the kind of genre I imagine to connote Classical and Orchestral music. I have started to come up with cover lines that suit the style I am after. I have decided to put a puff on my magazine as in real life this would be likely to entice the reader to buy it, I have used a black background oval shape behind the puff's text to make it stand out more. This puff is imperative as it starts with the word Win which is a verb; this is direct address as it speaks directly to the reader.

For this stage of my magazine I have made the drop cap smaller as I didn’t want it to stand out quite as much as it did, I decided to put a nice grand colour of silver behind the splash to bring out the burgundy and gold making it easier on the eye. I have decided to take out is in the splash to make the phrase a minor sentence making it more immediate and direct, this is a hyperbole.

I have come up with more cover lines and deciding on colours again to fit within my Christmas theme and medieval theme. I have also chosen to change the cover line about David Lawrence into a rhetorical question by adding will at the beginning and taking out the s in return “Will David Lawrence return to the west end?” this is an interrogative, this is a question that forms an immediate response.

This stage of the magazine I have inserted a slogan and used the drop cap method again as I am quite fond of this as it creates a much more formal image. I have chosen to use the colour gold with a black outline to correspond with the grandness of the silver on the image. I have noticed that the words “fields” is spelt wrong and this sentence is a declarative (Simple statement.)

| I have used www.defonts.com to download the barcode font which I have used in the bottom right hand corner, I have overlapped it over the smaller image. The barcode takes nothing away from the image. This is an obvious place to look if you were scanning the magazine at a checkout. |
